Monday 16th November 2026 - Sunday 21st November 2026

Celebrating the Past, Investing in the Future.

In November we will be encouraging young people, teachers and those that support enterprising young people to share posts on Twitter in order to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, using the hashtags #GEWHull #GEW2026. This year Global Entrepreneurship Week in Hull is dedicated to the memory of Mark Jones, former Director of Regeneration and champion of young entrepreneurs and care leavers.

#GEWUK features photos and videos from previous GEW events or shows how enterprising a school or individual is. This year is the 23rd year that Hull has celebrated Enterprise Week with our inspiring young people.

Councillor Paul Drake-Davis Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Housing said:

“Hull is proud to be celebrating 23 years of its work in promoting enterprise skills and youth entrepreneurship, first via Enterprise Week and now via Global Entrepreneurship Week. The week is all about how small ideas can take root and become viable business plans, with the potential to grow into sustainable companies. Hull City Council hopes to set an aspirational agenda for today’s young people in the city to set up their own businesses, start social enterprises and cooperatives, improve their communities and/or become enterprising students or employees."

Marc Ortmans, Chair of GEN UK and GEW UK said:

“Over the last 23 years, Hull has played a significant part every year in celebrating what it does to support enterprise skills and youth entrepreneurship. As a city it has always demonstrated its commitment to engaging with enterprising young people and sharing good practice with young people across the UK and the rest of the world."
